Format

• 4 sections · 17 items · about 70 minutes
• No negative marking - answer everything.

Sections

• Statistics multiple choice - 10 items, 10 minutes, no negative marking. 10 items in 10 minutes, a minute each. Estimator properties, regression diagnostics, distributions, and what a p-value and a confidence interval actually say.
• Free-response statistics - 4 items, 24 minutes, no negative marking. 4 items in 24 minutes, 6 minutes each, 6 marks each. Selection bias, multiple testing, overlapping windows, shrinkage. Write the argument out, then check it against the explanation.
• C++ problem - 1 items, 20 minutes, no negative marking. One problem in 20 minutes. C++ is mandatory on the real screen; this engine runs JavaScript.
• Multi-language problems - 2 items, 16 minutes, no negative marking. Two problems in 16 minutes, 8 minutes each. Python, Java or C++ on the real screen; this engine runs JavaScript.
